Choose ATV batteries by narrowing the listings to your quad, then compare the complete battery type wording and product identifier.

The right size starts with the machine application. After that, verify the case dimensions, terminal position, hold-down and charging needs before ordering.

Start with the ATV battery listings for your machine

Start with the machine. Open the PirateMX ATV Batteries collection instead of searching across unrelated electrical parts. It keeps the search focused on batteries listed for ATV applications.

Battery size involves more than a case looking about right. The tray footprint, battery height, terminal position, cable reach and hold-down all need to agree with the quad. Check fitment for your exact year, make and model before you order.

Use the old battery's full label as a cross-check if it was correctly installed, then keep each candidate's complete name and identifier beside the machine application. A photo proves little.

Compare battery type words and listing identifiers

Read every word. Listings can use Lithium Ion, Featherweight Lithium, Restart Lithium or Factory-Activated AGM Maintenance-Free wording. None is a complete fitment answer.

In Factory-Activated AGM Maintenance-Free, AGM describes a battery that holds its electrolyte in a glass mat. Factory-activated wording separates it from batteries that may require activation steps, while maintenance-free means routine water top-offs are not part of normal care. It still needs proper charging during storage.

Lithium labels also need their full product name and identifier. Check the battery maker's charger, storage and cold-use instructions rather than treating every lithium listing as interchangeable.

Keep the type wording attached to the product identifier while comparing case dimensions, terminal position, polarity and activation status. Watch the part name, too. A Battery Isolator Kit is not a replacement starting battery.

Shop by machine: Arctic Cat and Yamaha

Arctic Cat riders can begin with Arctic Cat Batteries. For a Yamaha quad, use the Yamaha Batteries page to remove applications for other makes.

Do not stop at the make. Match the ATV details you entered to each listing, then carry the complete type wording and product identifier into your comparison.

Shop by machine: Polaris and Suzuki

Start a Polaris search through Polaris Batteries, or enter through Suzuki Batteries for a Suzuki four-wheeler. The make page clears away a lot of unrelated choices.

Open the individual listings tied to your machine details. Similar Batteries can have different cases, terminal layouts or applications even when the type words look nearly identical, so keep the full identifier in your notes.

Shop by machine: Honda and Kawasaki

Honda riders can narrow their search through Honda Batteries. A Kawasaki owner should start with Kawasaki Batteries.

Here again, make is only the starting filter. Compare the remaining listing identifiers, battery type wording and application details before choosing. A familiar label does not settle the match.

Compare Yuasa Battery and Fire Power availability

After filtering by machine, compare Yuasa Battery ATV batteries with Fire Power ATV batteries. PirateMX carries options from these brands, but the size of a brand selection does not determine what belongs in your quad.

Yuasa Battery listings include the GYZ High Performance Factory-Activated AGM Maintenance-Free Battery GYZ32HL and YTZ Factory Activated AGM Maintenance-Free Battery YTZ10S. Fire Power listings include the Featherweight Lithium Battery. Those complete names show why the type words and identifiers need to stay together.

A plow quad sees cold starts, repeated work and regular winch use. Read the battery maker's charging, storage and cold-use directions instead of choosing from AGM or Featherweight Lithium wording alone.

Compare Parts Unlimited and Moose Racing availability

Use the Parts Unlimited ATV batteries and Moose Racing ATV batteries pages after narrowing the search to your machine. Parts Unlimited listings include Lithium Ion Battery wording, while Moose Racing choices should be compared through their complete listing details.

Place these Batteries beside the relevant Yuasa Battery and Fire Power options. Then compare the identifier, case fit, terminal layout, activation status and required charging care.

Storage matters for a trail or hunting quad that may sit between rides. Follow the instructions for the exact battery rather than assuming every option from the same brand needs identical care.

Prepare the battery before the next riding or work season

Before the next trail ride, plow storm, hunting season or round of work around the property, identify the ATV and save the narrowed battery path. Keep the type wording and product identifier with it.

If the quad lives outside through winter, inspect the cables and terminals for looseness or corrosion and use the charging method approved for the selected battery. Cold weather and repeated winch use can expose weak connections.

When the machine cranks slowly, check the battery, cables, ground and charging system before assuming a replacement battery will fix it. A fresh battery cannot repair a bad connection.

If the needed part is not a battery, continue through PirateMX Electrical Components. Those listings also include actuator products, the powered units that move linked mechanisms. Reading the complete part name helps keep an actuator or battery isolator kit out of a starting-battery search.
