In 1954, Hideo "Pops" Yoshimura, had a talent at modifying existing parts for more power, and started the Yoshimura™ company in Japan. Pops worked on planes, cars, and other combustion engine vehicles, but motorcycles were his specialty. In 1971 Pops added to Yoshimura™ by opening a shop in North Hollywood. Yoshimura Research and Development of America, Inc™ was born; manufacturing all sorts of equipment from exhausts, mufflers, and accessories to license plate frames and apparel.
